Jacobs street 16 ( B&B @ Bloem) and surrounding area (Universitas suburb) is generally a quiet and leafy suburb which makes it a convenient place to do your jogging or your daily walk early morning or late afternoon / evening.

The rooms offer coffee making facilities, fridge (except one room) and TV. Open parking behind locked gate. Nearest shopping centre and garage within 1 km from B&B @ Bloem. Breakfast is served in Chez les Jourdan from 07:00. 71 Bird species has been identified in the area. Two braai areas are available to the guests.

Cabrierre the name of the wheelchair friendly room at B & B @ Bloem was designed in association with APD Bloemfontein and Satour in 1995. Cabrierre is the village in the South of France where the Jourdan/ Jordaan family in South Africa originates from in the 15 century.

Parking is opposite the room, with a ramp to the room. The bathroom has a roll in shower as well as a bath. The bath and toilet has the necessary fittings to assist the guest. The hand basin taps is also adapted for the guest who may need it. The kitchen ,room lights and mirror is in accordance with wheelchair height. The room has a double bed.

Breakfast can be enjoyed in Chez les Jourdan or in the room. The guest has the choice. If need be the other rooms are close should a guest in a wheelchair make use of a helper.

A daily laundry service is available except week-ends. Rooms are serviced daily and should guests have requests rather ask at reception than direct with the staff members.

Marthinus the owner speaks three languages Afrikaans, English and Xhosa, holds a PhD in heritage tourism and is former board member and acting CEO of the Free State Tourism Marketing Board.

Should a booking be made at B&B @ Bloem and we cannot accommodate your total party I will endeavour to book the others at a place close to B&B @ Bloem.

We are situated in the suburb Universitas which is ± 60 yrs old. The bigger stands in the suburb has almost all been subdivided were new houses are subsequently erected. Were are 1km from the University of the Free State and Netcare Hospital. As mentioned above for the rest of most places in Bloemfontein we are ± 4 km away. Bloemfontein has several national and international events during the year which vary from academic, sporting and agricultural etc events.
